Repro steps
- 1.Open /core/menu and accept cookies.
- 2.Scroll to the Submenus section with the first 'Toggle Menu' demo.
- 3.Click the 'menu trigger' button (Toggle Menu).
- 4.Press ArrowDown twice to reach Products.
- 5.Press ArrowRight. The Products submenu opens with 'All products' focused.
- 6.Press ArrowDown inside the submenu.
- 7.Press ArrowLeft to close the submenu and return to the parent menu.
- 8.Press ArrowDown to move within the parent menu.
Expected
ArrowLeft closes the Products submenu and moves focus back to the 'Products' item in the parent menu. Later ArrowDown presses move focus through the parent menu items.
Actual
After ArrowLeft at 6.1s the submenu closes and the parent dropdown stays open, but no item shows a focus highlight at 7.0s. The ArrowDown press at 8.4s does not move focus in the menu. By 9.0s the dropdown is closed and the page has scrolled down, which suggests the arrow key reached the page instead of the menu.
Evidence
visualControl: the first ArrowRight works. At 5.0s, after ArrowRight at 4.9s, the Products submenu is open next to the parent list (Dashboard, Products, Customers, Reports, Orders, Settings) and 'All products' has a visible focus ring.
visualAfter ArrowLeft at 6.1s, the Products submenu is closed and the parent dropdown is still open. No item, including Products, shows a focus or hover highlight.

Press ArrowDown (8.4s). ## Expected ArrowLeft closes the submenu and returns focus to **Products** in the parent menu. ArrowDown then moves through the parent items. ## Actual - 7.0s: the submenu is closed and the parent dropdown is open, but no item shows focus. - 9.0s: after ArrowDown at 8.4s the dropdown is closed and the page has scrolled down (Submenus heading y≈292 to y≈252). The key appears to reach the page, not the menu. ## Control (works) - 5.0s: ArrowRight on **Products** opens the submenu and focuses **All products** correctly. ## Notes - A second attempt starting at 11.2s is inconclusive. The page had scrolled so the button was at y≈280 while the cursor was over the code block below it.
